Monday September 9th is our Annual General Meeting. Come to Ochil Leisure Centre at 7pm to hear about what has happened over the past year and what will be happening going forward.

Temporary Traffic Lights
Stirling – Albert Place at junction with Queens Road on Wednesday 7 August
Blanefield – between Public house & Kirkhouse Road until Friday 23 August
Road Closure Stirling – Junction 10 Craigforth to Junction 9 Bannockburn from Monday 29 July until Wednesday 31 July. This is a late night closure with local diversion.
Coalsnaughton Closure. The road works in Coalsnaughton were originally due to take 3 weeks, unfortunately they require a further week to complete all works. The closure will now continue until Thursday 8 August 2013.
Joint Alva Community Council and Public meeting will be held on Monday 8th July 2013 in the large meeting room upstairs in Alva CAP/Library starting at 19:00 till 21:00 regarding the social housing proposal beside the Ochil Leisure Centre. Guest speaker will be Colin Machin, Architect, along with representatives from both Link and Paragon Housing Associations.
Mary Dalrymple, Secretary of Alva Community Council, attended the Alva Academy Annual Prize giving event on Thursday 27th June 2013 and was highly delighted to watch Gemma Waghorn being presented with the Ruby Morrison Memorial Prize for the most outstanding pupil, as well as gaining a merit award for an educational subject. This is a very special announcement as Gemma is the youngest member of the Alva Community Council who sponsors this prize on annual basis. Congratulations all round to her and the other pupils of Alva Academy. An enjoyable night by all.
Alva Community Council are planning to brighten up this year’s long winter nights with Christmas lights in the town. To help raise funds for this endeavour Higgledy Piggledy are hosting a “Guess the Doll’s Birthday” competition. It’s 50p a go and the doll (shown below) is the prize.
