We have received the following communique from Police Scotland regarding their current recruiting drive.
POLICE SCOTLAND OFFERS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR FIT, HONEST AND HARD-WORKING PEOPLE FROM ACROSS FORTH VALLEY POLICE SCOTLAND – CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS – EAST Men and women from across the Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire areas, who are hard working, honest and enthusiastic, are being offered the chance to embark on a career as a police officer.
Chief Superintendent Davie Flynn, who is the area’s most senior officer, said: “Police Scotland will be recruiting 1,100 Police Constables over the next year from across the country, and I hope many applicants will be from the Forth Valley.
“We are a large-scale local public sector employer with an open and transparent recruitment policy which welcomes applicants from every sector of society, although you must be at least 18 years of age and hold a full driving licence before you can apply. You do not need to hold any formal qualifications, but applicants do need to have the ability to study, learn and pass ongoing academic assessments, particularly throughout the recruitment process and two-year probationary period.”
The highest levels of personal conduct, integrity and honesty, along with problem-solving skills and respect and understanding of equality and diversity are also required of applicants. ”
Due to the physical demands of the job, minimum levels of physical and mental fitness and eyesight are also required. ”
Chief Superintendent Flynn added: “The Forth Valley is an incredibly diverse area, with some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland as well as very urban and industrialised parts, such as the Grangemouth petro-chemical complex. This means my officers can find themselves working in all sorts of environments and doing many different tasks ranging from tackling wildlife crime to working at major events such as the recent Bannockburn Live and Armed Forces Day.
“Police officers are committed to serving their local communities, protecting the public and keeping people safe. This is an excellent career opportunity for anyone who is physically fit and is looking for a well-paid career that is exciting and varied, offering fresh challenges every day. Throughout my own 28 year career, I have found every single day to be different, offering challenges and rewards which I would not have experienced in any other career.”
He concluded “if you are up for the challenge, please apply today.”
